Have you ever wondered...

...why a sheep's coat doesn't shrink after it rains?
Seriously, this bothered me on the drive up north when I bought said book. There are loads of sheep always wandering on the moors on the road from the motorway to my parents' town and it was chucking it down.
So if wool always shrinks when it gets wet, how come the sheep don't get all shrunken too as their coat constricts?!
It's one of life's great mysteries, I guess.

  1. that's very true...why is it then, when we buy these jumpers made of sheep's wool, that shrink in the wash!....do we not get the same "special" ingredient that stops sheep from looking like they put their baby brothers coat on?? Is it lost in the shearing process?? maybe we will never know!!.......odd!!
